GM Optimist works on the problem of electric waste disposal in Gornji Milanovac. By organizing public actions, a media campaign and by lobbying organizations, the organization is planning to influence Municipal Board to find a space where electronic and electric waste would be taken to.

A cleaning action was organized at the foot of Kukavica mountain, in the rural area where there is no waste management system.

Clearing illegal land fills at seven spots near the center of the town and in Stupanj settlement. The action was implemented with help from Public Utility Service, the military and a great number of volunteers, mostly high school students and students of elementary schools.

Action of clearing several land fills on the road from Valjevo to Lelić, with help from Public Utility Service and volunteers. The action was followed by an ecological festival, which included concerts, a performance for children and a photo exhibition at Dom kulture in Valjevo.

The organization conducted a cleaning action in town center close to Čajka elementary school, as well as waste selection at school with help from a great number of volunteers and elementary school students. The action was followed by a photo exhibition, a competition in graffiti painting, and by a performance which was organized by students of all four elementary schools in Trstenik.
