Five beneficiaries of the “Blue Bird“ Society for Mentally Under-Developed Persons, supported by the work instructor, will be employed at the newly opened shop “Birdie”. The shop has been equipped with clay souvenirs made by intellectually disabled persons at the day care center of this organization... 
The GFCF asked Tanja Bjelanovic, Programme Director at the Balkan Community Initiatives Fund, about the establishment of the organization in 1999 and some of the challenges that Serbia’s largest grassroots grantmaking fund has encountered along the way.

On Friday, December 16th 2011 Association for Help to Persons with Mental Disabilities of the Municipality of Trstenik opened a daycare center for persons with intellectual disabilities.. 
The first part of the training for We are on-line! program was held from December 16th to December 18th in Belgrade. Thirty representatives of fifteen youth civil societies and informal groups from the entire Serbia participated in the training... 
From December 9th to 11th 2011, at Hotel Izvor in Aranđelovac, Balkan Community Initiatives Fund, in cooperation with Soft Tulip Foundation from The Netherlands, organizeda three-day training on advocating for employing people with disabilities..
