March Round of Active Communities Program

Balkan Community Initiatives Fund’s (BCIF) competition for Active communities program is in progress.

Local societies and informal citizen groups from Serbia may apply for Active communities program, with the maximum budget of up to 350,000,00 dinars.

Initiatives should refer to a local community, encourage active citizens’ participation and bring forth broad benefits to local community by using local potentials and resources, as ell as cooperating with the other sector on local level. Program is not thematically limited, so project proposals may refer to diverse topics: environment protection, children and the young, participation of citizens in decision making, providing support to vulnerable groups and their inclusion etc. Part of the program is dedicated to questions on social security, so organizations are encouraged to apply with ideas which are in regard to the establishment of services in that field, while adding to the implementation and the improvement of the reform of social security system.

Primary goal of Active communities program is improvement and development of local communities in Serbia, through encouragement of active citizens’ participation in problem solving.

Deadline for proposal submittal is
March, 2nd, 2010 until 5 PM
