Competition for VIRTUS Award Extended to October, 15th

Balkan Community Initiatives Fund (BCIF) has reached a decision to extend the deadline for submitting VIRTUS award applications to October, 15th, 2010.

VIRTUS award for corporate philanthropy is being awarded by BCIF for the fourth time in a row, with financial support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in partnership with Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). All domestic and international companies, public and state, small and medium-scale enterprises, media houses, as well as corporate funds and foundations, with exception of nonprofit organizations and state institutions, may apply for the competition. Award candidates may be nominated by all the interested citizens, individuals, nonprofit organizations, media, PR and marketing agencies, but the companies themselves may as well apply with their programs. The fund also invites the entire public to support and nominate candidates for which they believe to deserve this respectable recognition.

The award is traditionally awarded to those companies and enterprises which have during 2009/10 attributed to reaffirming the idea of philanthropy in the world of corporate business, by providing material and financial support to some state or nonprofit action or an organization, and by their investments in the general welfare.
