"CSO's – Strong Parnters in Social Welfare System Reform" Project Continued

Within »Civil Society Organizations – Strong Partners in Social Welfare System Reform« project, which is being implemented with the means from the European Union, from October 28th to 31st 2010 BCIF organized a seminar for civil society organizations which work with people with intellectual disabilities.

The seminar was opened by the screening of »The Life out of Sight« documentary film on BCIF's Social Transition program, while the central event of the first day was the lecture »Quality of Life« by Dutch expert in the field of social welfare Hans van der Vielen.  During the next three days of the seminar, the program encompassed the following key topics : living, employment, networking, lobbying and advocacy, viewed from the perspective of civil society organizations which provide services for people with intellectual disablities.

The goal of »CSO's – Strong Partners in Social Welfare System Reform« project is the support and cooperation between civil society organizations and institutions from Serbia and the EU countries, especially Holland, in strengthening connections and mutual exchange of experiences between the providers of social services, with an accent on services for people with intellectual disabilities.  The special goal of this project is the empowerment of civil society organizations, by building their capacities and developing sustainable social welfare services, by their networking and the influence on social welfare system reform in Serbia, based on the experiences from Holland.

It is encompassed by the project that the representatives from ten organizations from Serbia visit their colleagues in Holland, whose examples of good praxis may serve them for the implementation of innovative methods and the improvement of work in their communities.
