VIRTUS 2010 Award Ceremony on Saturday, December, 4th
On Saturday, December, 4th, on a gala ceremony at National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, VIRTUS 2010 - corporate philanthropy award nominees will be announced. With financial help from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in partnership with Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC), Balkan Community Initiatives Fund (BCIF) is granting the award for the fourth time in a row, by which a recognition is given to the companies and enterprises which contributed to the development of philanthropy in the world of responsible business, by their investments in the general welfare.
VIRTUS 2010 award will be given in four main categories:
• Main award for contribution on the national level
• Award for contribution to the local community in which the company operates
• Award for small and medium-scale enterprise
• Award for support given to the most innovative project of the year
As was the case during the previous years, the recognition in two special categories, Award for long-term partnership between business and nonprofit sector and Special award for media contribution will be given to the companies which stood out by their work in the mentioned fields.
The decision on the nominees was made by a jury which consisted of: Ana Firtel Vlajić, Executive Director of Foreign Investors Council, Ana Koešal, Director of Humanitarian Organization Divac (HOD), Tamara Koštro, Corporate Communication Director at EkonomEast magazine, Miloš Đajić, President of Public Relation Society of Serbia, Ivan Vejvoda, Executive Director of Balkan Trust for Democracy and Biljana Stepanović, Director of Business Info Group.
Special guests who will participate at this year’s VIRTUS award ceremony are:
• Her Excellence Mary Burce Warlick, Ambassador of the USA in Serbia
• Božidar Đelić, Vice president of Serbian Government
• Snežana Lakićević, State Secretary at Ministry of Labor and Social Policy
• Radovan Jelašić, UniCredit bank’s Consultant for Southeastern Europe
The purpose of this prestigious award is to recognize and openly accentuate the companies and enterprises which set the standards towards which we should strive in the world of socially responsible business. One of the goals of VIRTUS award is the promotion of philanthropy in Serbia, so that even greater number of companies and entrepreneurs could participate in similar socially useful actions in the future.
