Public Class at Philological High School
A series of public classes on the importance of philanthropy within the scope of „Penny is not petty – Giving hand, joyous heart“ campaign was continued on December, 13th at Philological High School in Belgrade. This was an opportunity for the students of Philological High School to find out more about the history of philanthropy in our country and the rest of the world, as well as to recognize the ways by which they may launch similar actions within their own environment.
“The goal of public classes is to raise the awareness of the young on the importance of individual giving for the general welfare. The students are, on the example of famous people who were great philanthropists, presented with the ways in which the vulnerable may be helped“, said Ksenija Graovac, Philanthropy program Manager at Balkan Community Initiatives Fund.
On the topics of philanthropy, volunteer work, as well as the experiences and examples from United States of America, Ms. Susan Fritz spoke with the students. Ms. Fritz is Director of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with whose financial support „Penny is not Petty“ campaign is being implemented.
