National Lottery of Serbia Joins „Penny is Not Petty“ Action
National Lottery of Serbia has joined „Penny is not petty“ action, which is being implemented by Balkan Community Initiatives Fund, in order to help socially neglected children and to improve the quality of their lives. Specially labeled boxes will be placed in five refurbished Lottery offices in Belgrade, Kragujevac and Požarevac. The citizens will be able to put their small change into the boxes, which thus becomes more than change – it becomes a valuable help for those children.
Within the scope of winter holidays, Lottery wanted in this manner to contributealong with its players, so that the next year may be better for those small children. The citizens will be able to join the action in the following offices:
- Belgrade, offices in Njegoševa St. 13, Nušićeva St. 12 and in Uskočka St. 4 - 6
- Kragujevac, office in Nikole Pašića Street 10
- Požarevac, office in Tabačka čaršija Street 15
The idea behind „Penny is not petty" humanitarian action is that every time you get a change back, you get a chance to help someone. The small change which does not mean a lot to us may change the life of somebody else. By supporting socially neglected children within this project, your small change becomes more than just change.
The financial means acquired during the campaign will be forwarded in total to local foundation „Moonlight“ from Subotica, which in cooperation with elementary schools organizes free evening clubs for socially neglected children, where they may get together and participate in sport, cultural, recreational and other programs.
By joining „Penny is not petty" action, National Lottery of Serbia continues its successful cooperation with Balkan Community Initiatives Fund. The cooperation had started by launching Goodness project, with an idea to finance by various competitions the projects which will help socially vulnerable groups. Within the scope of the projects three competitions have been implemented so far, by which 13 projects from cities throughout Serbia were supported. The projects were intended for the children without parental custody and the elderly.
