Together for The Children’s Welfare
The club for the children from the families with manifold problems, which is led by the organization GM Optimist from Gornji Milanovac, was visited by the representatives of „Penny is not petty“ campaign and Moonlight foundation from Subotica. The club in Gornji Milanovac is one of the eight clubs in the country which is successfully working according to the Moonlight principle, and it was opened a few months ago with the donation from this foundation. As was the case with the rest of the clubs, it has become a favorite hangout place for the children, with sports, social games, cultural and educational amenities. The club’s activities are being implemented with the help from the volunteers who work there and spend time with the children, and one of the amenities is educational workshop with a goal to prevent the addiction problems.
Since the launch of the first Club in Subotica in 2005, expanding the idea for protecting the children from the families with manifold problems, the support in their psycho-physical development and better social integration were the main goals of Moonlight foundation. Those ideas and goals were recognized and supported by „Penny is not petty“ campaign for individual giving, which has intended all the means acquired within the scope of the action from humane citizens – philanthropists for the children gathered around Children’s club from Subotica. By placing donation boxes in several of its offices, towards the end of the last year National Lottery of Serbia has joined the friends of the campaign.
