Competition for Participation in „Green List of Serbia“ Program Open Until February, 17th, 2011

Within Civil Society Advocacy Initiative in Serbia program, and in partnership with Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and with financial help from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), BCIF wishes to encourage and support local ecological civil societies in Serbia, through membership and work within Green List of Serbia eco network.

By Green List of Serbia development program, we wish to enable ecological civil societies to improve their existing capacities, and to promote mutual cooperation of eco societies from various local communities in Serbia.  The selected organizations will during the next two years have an opportunity to be full members of Green List of Serbia local eco organizations network, which is being coordinated by Young Researchers of Serbia.  Mutual initiatives of potential members will be realized through Oplaneti se! eco campaign, which will aim at solving concrete problems in waste management and the promotion of recycling in Serbia through activities on the local and national level.  The initiatives should include the citizens in the active promotion of eco problem solving, and guide the decision makers on the local, regional and national level to come up with the right solution.

The support to eco societies will be given through several phases:

- Based on the competition applications received, 12 local eco societies will be selected, which will during the next two years be the members of Green List of Serbia eco network, together with Young Researchers of Serbia, who are the network coordinators.

- Two members from each of the 12 selected organizations will go through trainings within which they will acquire necessary insights for successful implementation of the campaign within the topics of waste management and recycling.  Apart from that, the representatives of the twelve selected organizations with come up with and elaborate in detail the activity plan for the next Oplaneti se! Eco campaign, together with the representatives of BCIF and Young Researchers of Serbia.  Three three-day seminars are scheduled forFebruary, March and April, 2011.

- After the completion of the training, project proposals which were best elaborated and the most realistic will receive financial help for activity implementation within Oplaneti se! Eco campaign, which will be aimed at concrete problem solving in the realms of waste management and the promotion of recycling.
