The Second Training Within Advanced Community Advocacy Program
From February 25th to 27th, the second training module within Advanced Community Advocacy Program was organized at Šumadija hotel in Belgrade. The training was organized for the representatives of eleven organizations whose project proposals on the topic of Advanced Community Advocacy had been rated as the best by Selection board.
At the second training module the work program was focused on the budget of the local communities, the budget analysis, and the development of hypotheses and the goal of Community Advocacy. The target group and communication channels were identified, and there were references to the first training module. The training was led by Snežana Stojanović and Vukosava Crnjanski Šabović. The representatives of the organizations had a chance to get acquainted with the way by which the budget of the local communities is created through the talk with Hajrija Bugujevci, who is employed at the Department of Economy, Budget and Finance in Municipality of Prijepolje. Within the education of the organizations and the development of project proposals another three-day training is scheduled for March, 2011. By Advanced Community Advocacy Program, BCIF wishes to strengthen citizen’s associations to develop the initiatives which will draw the attention of the citizens and social actors on some important problem or topic within the local community. It is necessary for the problem solving to imply the influence on the allocation of the funds from local self-government’s budget for a certain topic/theme. The program is being implemented in partnership with Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC), and with financial help from United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
