The First Donations Collected- Fundraising from Local Sources Program
Organizations White Birch from Kruševac and TheCobra from Donja Trnava have collected the first donations within Fundraising from local sources program.
White Birch has received the first donation for its action of greening the schoolyard of Vladislav Savić Jan elementary school in local municipality of Parunovac in Kruševac. There were 30 seedlings which have been donated by Aleksandar garden from the Kruševac settlement of Mali Šiljegovac. The goal of White Birch was to raise the funds for 250 seedlings in total from individuals and enterprises.
The Cobra group is fundraising for the opening up of an Internet center in Donja Toponica next to Niš, which will be at disposal for all the citizens, along with five months of organized training. The Cobra has received its first donation in the amount of 10.000 dinars from Udarnik enterprise from Donja Trnava, while 3.000 dinars were raised by fundraising from individuals until now.
Within Fundraising from local sources program, during 2010 fifteen organizations in total have gone through the trainings in strategic planning, project and financial management and fundraising from companies and individuals. They then worked on the making of strategic plans for their organizations, as well on fundraising plan that is coming up with an action for which the funds would be raised in their community. According to the assessment conducted by BCIF and project consultant team, nine organizations - Center for Creative Development (Knjaževac), Association for the Development of Creativity (Aleksinac), White Birch (Kruševac), Q Club and ApsArt (Belgrade), The Good People (Valjevo), The Rainbow (Šabac), The Cobras (Donja Trnava) and Green Road signs (Raška) have had the documents which were elaborated in the best manner, and they have received the funds for technical support which should enable them to prepare for the fundraising process. During the following months the organizations will try to maintain the partnerships with local entrepreneurs, as well as with the citizens – individual donors and to raise the funds planned, whileBCIF will give them the grants in the amount of the funds raised that is the funds will be doubled
Fundraising from local sources program is being implemented by BCIF, with support from VIA Foundation from Czech Republic, within Transition Promotion program of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
