Workshops within Expert Support Program for Social Business Development
Within Expert Support Program for Social Business Development, on March 8th and 9th in Belgrade were organized two workshops with social enterprises, which had entered the program through the recently realized Competition. The representatives of the following social enterprises participated in the workshops:
- Eko BaG, Belgrade
- Association Let’s Live Together, Belgrade
- Pirotex triko d.o.o., Pirot
- Our House, Belgrade
- Civil Society for Creative Stimulation STUDIO, Belgrade
- Ethno forum, Svrljig
- Hera Women’s Club, Backa Topola
- Lak zica d.o.o. Bor
- Women’s Centre, Uzice
The goal of the workshops was to identify the specific needs and problems that those enterprises encounter in everyday business, in order to precisely define the fields where they mostly need the expert support. Together with the facilitator, the participants have gone through all important aspects of their business: development strategy, marketing strategy (mission, vision, goals, research, promotion), sales, human resources, management, finance. In every workshop several role-plays were realized, during which the participants were placed in various situations concerning the sales and contact with the customers, after which all participants commented on the actor’s attitudes in those situations. The first general conclusions were that the social enterprises that participate in the program mostly do not have defined development strategies, as well that the majority of social businesses need the support in the fields of sales and market positioning.
In the upcoming period, business consultants and mentors will be assigned to the selected businesses, with which they will work on the development and improvement of business during the period of seven months. Furthermore, meetings will be organized for the participants in order for them to mutually exchange information, experiences and the good praxis, with a potential for networking and mutual effort for the improvement of conditions for the development of social business.
Expert Support Program for Social Business Development is being implemented by Coalition for Social Entrepreneurship Development and financially supported by Millennium Development Goals Fund (MDGF) within Youth Employment and Migration program.
