Winners of “Centrifuga 2011” Competition

This year’s grants in the total amount of 2.5 million dinars, which had been provided by Erste Bank, were awarded to the youth organizations from eight Serbian cities.

Eco Voice, Jagodina is planning to launch “Our Vision of the Urban Future” festival, in cooperation with several organizations from Jagodina.  Festival activities include art graffiti, painting, musical interpretation, hip hop dance, art photography.  The festival will be organized in a public space during several weekends in the center of the town on a summer stage which will be constructed for that occasion.

Informal youth group Cultural Network from Banovci wishes to launch cultural days dedicated to the young from Banovci, which would include contemporary dance workshops, sound and video editing workshops, art and environment workshops for the youth, as well as spear workmanship and ceramics replica workshops.  The workshop results will be displayed in public spaces in Banovci through exhibitions and the closing show.

Positive Youth from Kraljevo wishes to organize an educational-art performance the goal of which will be to influence the young to start thinking more about the topics such as environment pollution.  The performance would be based on contemporary circus techniques and funny gags, and realized in cooperation with Circusphere organization from Belgrade, with the participation of the youth from Kraljevo.  The performance will be preceded by juggling workshops which will be public and open for interested young people.  A documentary film screening and a concert, as well as a local rock band festival, are also planned within the project.

Informal group Generator, Anomaly and Party from Požega by this project wishes to place the art in a public space through setting upspatial and videoinstallations, exhibiting photos collected through a competition which will form stop-motion installations, and frame the scenes and sights in the public space.  Planned exhibitions and installations would be interactive and would enable the participation of the youth and other citizens in their creation.

Informal group Urban Youth from Novi Pazar wishes to launch a short movie competition, made by a camera or a cell phone, on the topic of inter-culturalism which would be aimed at the young people from Novi Pazar.  The most successful short films will be screened at public screenings at Cultural center, during which a public tribune would be organized on the topic of interculturalism.

CSO Vido from Kragujevac wishes to organize a multimedia event Mediocracy, in cooperation with informal group Mediocracy, which will consists of lectures based on media archeology and media impact analysis, with a focus on the 90’s in Serbia.  The lectures would be interactive, and encourage the youth to think critically.  The event will be followed by a suitable music program by the local bands and DJ’s and other guest musicians.

Cultural center Lift from Čačak wishes to launch a series of poetry workshops for interested young talents.  The most successful poets would then cooperate with young artists who would create a visualization of poetry through various art forms.  The exhibitions of the works and the first Pesničenje in Čačak would be organized as the final event within the project, followed by a concert.

Artists’ Society The Stairs from Šabac wishes to organize street art workshops and the painting of the designs “The City in 20 Paintings”, which would be preceded by lectures on the cultural history of the city.  The painting itself would be organized in a public space with direct participation of the youth and other visitors, while the workshop participants are to be selected through a competition.
