About Places in the Heart fund
For the sixth time in a row Places in the Heart fund is traditionally awarding civil society organizations and informal groups which have in 2010 implemented projects with the most positive effects on their local communities.
The founder of Places in the Heart award is Jefferson Institute, which organized the award ceremony for the first time in 2006. Because of the great interest that this initiative provoked, the tradition has been continued by founding Places in the Heart fund. This year the award is being awarded for the sixth time for local initiatives realized in 2010.
As was the case in the previous years, organizations or groups which are project bearers in their local community, which deal with the problem which is mutual for a greater number of people in the community, and which bring about positive changes may apply for the competition. With support and in cooperation with The Office for Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organizations (TACSO) EU, this year the award for the best local partnership is being awarded for the second time in a row.
