Places in the Heart Fund Awarded the Most Positive Civic Initiatives’ Projects and the Best Local Partnership in 2010
On a ceremony held on October 11th 2011 at Assembly of the City of Belgrade,Places in the Heart fund for the sixth time in a row awarded the organizations which have in 2010 implemented projects with the most positive effects on their local communities.
With support and in cooperation with EU Office for the Technical Support to Civil Society Organizations (TACSO), the best local partnership between civil society organizations and public and business sector was awarded.
The companies which participate in and support the work of Places in the Heart fund provided the means in the amount of 1.150.000 dinars for the money awards for the awardees in both categories.
1st Place - Erste Bank awarded 500.00 dinars for the winners in the category of the most positive local civic initiatives’ project. The award went to Scout Squad REMIZIJANA from Bela Palanka for the project “Let’s Make a Park and Raise Awareness”.
2nd Place - NBG Leasing awarded 200.000 dinars to Association for Protection and Improvement of the Position of Children “A STEP FORWARD” from Kruševac, for the project “Day Care Center for Children and Young People at Risk”.
3rd – Place Microsoft awarded 150.000 dinars toCobra Group from Donja Toponica next to Niš for the project “Public Space for All of Us”.
Telenor and Telenor Foundation awarded the winner in the category of the best local partnership with 300.000 dinars and an internet modem with one year of free internet. The award went to Association for Protection and Improvement of the Position of Children “A STEP FORWARD” from Kruševac, for the project “Day Care Center for Children and Young People at Risk”.
This year’s ceremony was opened by Mr. Danko Runić, Director of Agency for European Integration and Cooperation with Associations of the City of Belgrade. Ms. Jasmina Benmansur, Assistant to the Minister at Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Ms. Ivana Ćirković, Director of the Government’s Office for Cooperation with Civil Society, Ms. Andrea Brbaklić, President of the MB of Places in the Heart fund, Ms. Sonja Licht, the representative of the jury of Places in the Heart fund, as well as the representatives of companies and the awarded organizations spoke at the ceremony.
