Art in Passing

Within Art in Passing project, which had been supported within this year’s Centrifuga, informal group Generator, Anomaly and Party conducted a series of art interventions with a goal to give a new dimension to the public space in Požega.

Prior to the main actions, the group had realized two out-of-ordinary promo actions.  The actions implied the setting up of video works in public, the authors of which are our fellow citizens.  The first activity was the setting up of the spatial installation Paper process only in an abandoned place.  The installation was created in 2009 at Art and Paper symposium in Čačak.  It consists of a collage of a great format and a video work which is projected on a TV set placed in the back of the place.
Thanks to the cooperation with the economy sector in the local community, that is Roda supermarket, two actions were realized in their space.  The first is the setting up of a video work of the local artist Aleksandra Gordić.  The work is entitled Accumulation.

The second activity is Escalator motion, which is the installation on escalators where photos were placed in the manner of stop motion animation and comic strip.  By looking at the photos in line during the ride on the escalators you get an impression that you are looking at a stop motion animation.

The group entertained the city streets by conducting The Framing action.  The action included the setting up of empty picture frames in the public space.  The locations were selected on the basis of recognizing interesting situations and attractive locations in the city itself, which they wanted to point out and to affirm them in an artful manner.  More on those and other project activities you may find on Art in Passing website.
