Traditional VIRTUS 2011 Awards Granted
On Saturday, December 3rd 2011 VIRTUS awards for corporate philanthropy were awarded. For the fifth time in a row the representatives of civil societies, companies, the Government and the media assembled at National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade in order to award the people who have been investing most in non-profit initiatives during 2011. Giving for the general welfare is the field in which Balkan Community Initiatives Fund has been devotedly working during its twelve years of existence.
With the help of VIRTUS jury, Balkan Community Initiatives Fund has been awarding „the company that cares“ over the past five years. Apart from BCIF, the hosts at this year’s ceremony were Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mr. Rasim Ljajić, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Her Excellence Mary Warlick, British Ambassador His Excellence Michael Davenport and Ms. Ivana Ćirković, Director of the Government’s Office for Cooperation with the Civil Sector. This year’s winners are Erste bank a.d. Novi Sad for national contribution and volunteering, Holcim d.o.o. for the contribution to the local community, Telenor d.o.o. for long-term partnership with UNICEF, RDP B92 for the support to the most innovative project and Sunce Marinković company in the category of small and medium-scale enterprise.
