“Birdie” - the Newly Opened Shop of the “Blue Bird“ Society for Mentally Under-Developed Persons in Kula
Five beneficiaries of the “Blue Bird“ Society for Mentally Under-Developed Persons, supported by the work instructor, will be employed at the newly opened shop “Birdie”. The shop has been equipped with clay souvenirs made by intellectually disabled persons at the day care center of this organization.
Employees will sell souvenirs and provide photocopy services.
The shop space has been provided by the Kula Municipality, while Balkan Community Initiatives Fund has provided interior equipment, within its project “Inclusion of People with Disabilities in Serbia through Employment” realized in cooperation with Soft Tulip Foundation from The Netherlands.
“Blue Bird“ Society for Mentally Under-Developed Persons is one of five partner civil society organizations within this project, aiming at developing favorable environment for employment of disabled persons in local communities, and supporting networking and cooperation of organizations with relevant institutions, based on the experiences of Netherlands.
The project is financially supported by European Union, within the project “Civil Society Support”, managed by Delegation of EU in the Republic of Serbia.
