We Are On-line!

Balkan Community Initiatives Fund, in cooperation with Fund for an Open Society, is launching a grant program with an educational component called “We are on-line!”.  The program’s goal is to activate and mobilize youth by using Internet and information technologies. Within this program, through trainings and grants in the amount of up to 200.000,00 RSD, BCIF is planning to support youth citizens’ associations and informal groups who wish to use new media, social networks and information technologies in a creative and meaningful manner in order to draw attention to the issues that are of importance for young people, the problems they face, and to increase their active participation in social changes.

We are on-line! program is being launched with an intention to empower young people to use new media, social networks and information technologies as means to encourage activism among their generation and in their community.  The goal of the program is to encourage youth to activate themselves and initiate solutions to the problems that are important for them in a creative manner, to encourage their networking and to enable them to connect with new media and information technology experts in order to further develop their ideas and activities.

Grant awarding procedure

BCIF has established rules and procedures for awarding grants.  During public selection process, project proposals for We are on-line! program are reviewed on the following levels:

1. BCIF’s office (reviewing project proposals)
2. Selection Board (selecting 15 best project proposals)
3. Training modules for draft project proposal development
4. Grant Committee
